General Overview

The Lumberjack Leadership Academy at Stephen F. Austin State University is a program intended to grow and develop student leaders while enhancing the overall college experience. This program is an enhanced version of the SFA 101 seminar class.

Lumberjack Leadership Academy emphasizes global leadership and service leadership. The academy has a specialized SFA 101 class that meets from 2:00-2:50pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays. In addition to attending class, the academy also require participation in unique leadership and service opportunities. This is an official SFA class so you must be available to attend all scheduled class sessions and complete all assigned work.

Benefits of participating in Lumberjack Leadership Academy: increased knowledge of leadership, what makes a leader, and how to be a successful leader being part of a community of elite first year students learning leadership skills through interaction with current student leaders and campus organizations optimal service opportunities within the SFA and Nacogdoches communities increased interaction with the Student Affairs staff and SFA administration opportunity to live in a community with fellow LLA students

We will notify students of their status as soon as possible to facilitate registration for the course. Please do not register for a different SFA 101 course before hearing back from us - this causes significant confusion for the SFA 101 office and could result in a delay of your registration for this class.
